Cerita Rakyat Nihh !


Malin Kundang

 
An old poor woman lived at a village near Muara Padang beach. Her name was Mande Rubiah. She had a son calle Malin Kundang. The old woman loved her son very much. When he was fifteen years old, he worked as a porter at Muara.
One day a skipper asked him to work on his ship. Malin told his mother he liked to work on the ship. Malin Kundang worked hard on the ship. The skipper like him. One day the skipper fell ill. He called Malin Kundang and his daughter Nilam Sari.The skipper said, “You must become husband and wife. I give all my wealth to you, Malin.” He died and Malin Kundang married Nilam sari. He became proud and greedy. He forgot everything. Mande Rubiah waited for her son nearly ten years.
One day a beautiful ship came to Muara. The ship belonged to Malin Kundang. Malin Kundang got out from the ship proudly. Mande Rubiah was at Muara. She was sure the owner of the ship was her son. She shouted, “ Malin! Malin my son.” She tried to embrace him. He was angry. “Who are you poor woman? You are dirty! Satay away from me.”
“ I am your mother, Malin. Your own mother.” Said Mande Rubiah. He knew she was his mother, but he felt ashamed. He laughed. “Insane woman! Stay away.” He asked his guards to chase her. She fell down. Malin got on the ship. The ship sailed. When the ship turned to Gunung Padang, the old woman knelt down.
She cried and prayed, “God, show him your power. My son is sinful.” A big wind blew. It hit the ship. All of his guards were drowned. A very big wave threw the ship of Air Manis beach. Is destroyed the ship. The god cursed the sinful son to a stone.

Moral message to be learned from the story of Malin Kundang namely:
- Dutiful to parents particularly the mothers, because mothers who had conceived us
- Stay away from the arrogant of all people, because we live so need help from others.
- Never forget to parents and place of origin we are born, because parents who keep us and they are willing to sacrifice for their children. And never forget the place of our birth, because there the place we grew up and maybe there we can be peace in life.
